Darkseid

The planet Apokolips is a hellish place in another dimension, it is the evil counterpart to the heavenly planet called New Genesis which is home to many of the 'New Gods'. Apokolips is ruled by the cruel villain named Darkseid and many villains work for him including Desaad who is Darkseid's scientist and the Female Furies who are Darkseid's personal bodyguards.

The social hierarchy on Apokolips is very clear to all those who come across it. At the top is Darkseid, and following him are those known as 'Darkseid's Elite'. Then there are his Furies, particularly the Female Furies who are Darkseid's highly trained personal bodyguards and below them are the planet's main law enforcers known as the Parademons. With longevity, a high resistance to pain and being equipped with weapons that have been forged in the fiery pits of the planet, it is their job to enforce order and laws that Drakseid lays down. Last of all and at the bottom of the social hierarchy are the Lowlies. The Lowlies make up most of the population of Apokolips and many of them are citizens from other planets who have been caputured and their planets taken over. These creatures have no will power or sense of worth and are constantly being tortured and tormented until they die.

 Apokolips has fire pits dotted all over it. These are what powers the planet and acts as a furnace while it is used to melt down metal from old machines, weapons and destroyed buildings. The molten metal is recycled and made into new things and whatever cannot be melted down is taken by the Lowlies who wait at the rim of the top of the pits for something to sell or make a shelter out of.
